Synopsis:

The Boboli Gardens were the urban pleasure grounds of the powerful Medici family in Florence. The gardens are an important example of the transition between High Renaissance and Early Baroque. The gardens would have a far-reaching impact, as the future Queen of France, Marie de Medici would grow up in the gardens and her memory of the gardens would influence the creation of the French Formal style.
