Synopsis:

The Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos is a medieval castle located in Córdoba, Spain. It is famous for being the location from which the Spanish monarchs bid farewell to Christopher Columbus prior to his voyage of discovery in 1492. Immediately adjacent to the castle is the historic section of the gardens, combining elements of both Moorish and Mudéjar design. The expansive water gardens are laid out in a Mudéjar style, but are modern additions to the site.
